Highlights march 2017

Tajan is presenting in March its rich prestigious Spring sales.

This new semester will be inaugurated with a Decorative Arts and Design auction, on March, 15th. It will reveal, notably, a big flat minister desk from Eugène Printz.

On the 20th is occurring the first sale of the year from our Jewellery department. The Jewellery and Watches sale will present more than 400 items, including numerous designer pieces, such as Cartier, Chanel, Mellerio, René Boivin, but also Poiray, with in particular a magnificent ring diamond solitaire. Our team also selected a beautiful brooch from the 1940s made of sapphire and ruby, and a Rolex Milgauss Ref. 1019.

With the Old Master Paintings auction of the March 24th, collectors and arts’ amateurs will also have the pleasure to discover a splendid Vue des environs de Rome from Pierre-Athanase Chauvin, and a painting of l’Enfant Jésus avec les instruments de la passion attributed to South-American School of XVIIIth Century.

The Espace Tajan will put Chinese arts in the spotlight the 29th March, notably with Han’s ceramics from the Republic period, jades, metal’s arts, lettered items and paper’s arts, including a letter attributed to Zhao Ziqian (1829-1884) and a beautiful, lively calligraphy of Fan Zeng from 1990. The sale will also reveal a large selection of Huê’s blues, South-East Asian sculptures (Thailand and Cambodia) and Japanese decorative arts.

This rich eventful month will be end with two important sales, Contemporary and Modern Art, on March 30th. We will present this day paintings by Peter Saul, Robert Combas, by Jonone and Blek le rat for Urban Art. Eventually, the Modern Art department will present an outstanding Tête de Clown by Bernard Buffet, 1955.
